Carly Gillespie

Carly has been gardening her whole life.. Carly coordinated Wasatch Community Gardens’ educational workshops and community events, providing thousands of Salt Lake residents with the knowledge and skills to grow their own food organically for five years before jumping into farm lyfe in 2014. An experienced organic gardener, she has worked in gardens of all sizes, and even helped start the small, organic, Duckelberry Farm in Beaver Creek, Oregon. Her love of gardening and good food has made her passionate about food access, and creating a sustainable local food system. She spends her free time gardening, cooking, preserving, experimenting, playing with her dogs, cats and chickens and trying to convince her husband that they can keep their horrible pig. She loves volunteering with other local non-profit organizations.  Carly currently serves on the Salt Lake City Food Policy Task Force and The Downtown Public Market Steering Committee.  She is a co-owner of B.U.G. Farms with Coleman Riedesel.

Coleman Riedesel

Coleman Riedesel, born in Salt Lake City, UT, has been farming "off and on" since 2010. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with an undergraduate degree, Coleman discovered the wonderful world of agriculture. Inspired by his experience as an intern at Flying Cloud Farms in Fairview, NC, Coleman returned to Utah in 2011 to join Sharon Leopardi at BUG Farms. He is delighted to be in the fields farming and even more excited to be the co-owner of the farm since 2015. BUG Farms is a distraction from rock climbing, trail running, and getting into trouble. It also supports his love for food.
